The Surallah Christmas Festival 2024 is creating a buzz on social media, particularly on Facebook, where it has captured the attention of netizens throughout the region.

As of this writing, the festival has garnered over 100,000 mentions of the word “Surallah” on Facebook, making it one of the top trending topics on the platform in region 12.

The excitement began on November 27, when LGU Surallah page posted a promotional material about the invited SOX Content Creators. This announcement sparked a mix of reactions from local netizens, leading to numerous shares that increased online engagement.

The momentum continued with the opening ceremony of the Christmas Festival on December 1, solidifying Surallah's status as the most talked-about Christmas event in the region.

The opening night featured a Christmas parade, a drum and lyre competition, the lighting of festive structures, a grand fireworks display, and live band performance.

Both locals and tourists have taken to social media to share their experiences, highlighting the town’s unique month-long Christmas celebration. This year’s theme is "Pasko sa Surallah: Ngiting may Saya sa Bawat Pamilya.”

Mayor Pedro M. Matinong Jr. expressed his gratitude to the public for their overwhelming support of the town’s event and extended an invitation to everyone to visit Surallah and experience the Christmas festival until the end of December.

Other activities include the Barbecue FEASTival, Mutya ng Surallah, InTODA Night, Smile Movie Night, and other competitions.

Due to the festival’s immense popularity, Surallah has been officially dubbed the “Christmas Capital of South Cotabato,” as per SP Resolution No. 382.
