Voice artist Harlem Jude Ferolino was honored with the "Youth Excellence in Artistic Discipline" award at the 2024 General Santos City Youth Achiever's Award (GSCYAA). The award ceremony took place on Monday, December 23, at Veranza Mall in GenSan.
"I have always believed that true artistry is not confined to what we create but is also found in the lives we touch. Art is not about impressing others; it is about leaving them inspired. As artists, we hold a sacred duty to use our talents to bring hope, joy, and change to the world," Ferolino expressed during his acceptance speech.
Three other young achievers were also recognized in the In-School Youth Category (High School Category): Jamie Russell, Meryll Miranda, and Hizam Tuan.
Ferolino currently serves as an Information Officer II at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Sarangani-General Santos. He is also a certified voice artist and youth advocate. He has been at the forefront of empowering young people through his involvement with the Voice of the Youth Network and Certified Voice Artists Philippines, Inc.
He was selected as one of the performers for the Philippine rendition of the iconic song "Defying Gravity" in a music video for the Wicked movie.
In his advocacy, he continually encourages the youth to pursue their talents and dreams, emphasizing that "someone out there needs to hear your voice."
The GSCYAA is an annual recognition program initiated by the LGU GenSan through its Youth Affairs Development Office (YADO). It aims to honor young individuals and youth organizations who have made remarkable contributions to their fields, organizations, or communities.
The awards encompass various categories, including the In-School Category for both high school and college, youth organizations, and young professionals, among others.
