Governor Ruel Pacquiao celebrates Sarangani’s progress in first SOPA

Sarangani Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao delivered his first State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Thursday, August 8, at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium.

The governor’s SOPA was integrated during the 3rd Regular Session of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, presided over by Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta.

He presented the province's "collective achievements" and highlighted his ongoing programs, as well future projects for Sarangani Province

One of the highlights of his report was that Sarangani is no longer on the list of the Top 10 poorest provinces in the Philippines. He also mentioned that Sarangani is one of the provinces with the fastest-growing economies.

"In April, the Philippine Statistics Authority confirmed that we are no longer on the list of the Top 10 poorest provinces in the country. Ito ay isang napakalaking ebidensiya ng ating tagumpay," said Governor Pacquiao.

He also mentioned other successful programs under his Ronda Probinsiya, including governance, healthcare, agriculture, security, infrastructure, economic development, environment, and the IP and Moro Development Plan, as well as youth development and social welfare.

“Indeed, I am not alone in breaking the bonds of poverty. Every Sarangan is part of the plan. Every Sarangan is involved in every action we take,” he said.

“Through the power of collaboration and creative cooperation, we are becoming more resilient, dynamic, and progressive.”

Sarangani’s strong foundation is rooted in the visionary leadership of our founders. My sincerest thanks to them,” said Governor Pacquiao.

The SOPA 2024 was also graced by Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon and wife Michelle Solon, the seven municipal mayors and the Sangguniang Bayan members, the 142 barangay councils, heads of offices and employees, other partners and stakeholders of the province, as well as the governor's family.
