‘Weaving Flavors of the South’ Showcases the Culinary Skills of South Cotabateños

In a vibrant celebration of South Cotabato’s rich culinary heritage, the 𝐓𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟐 highlighted the culinary delights of the province.

The event took place on July 17 at the Fiesta Filipino Ballroom, The Farm at Carpenter Hill in Koronadal City. The South Cotabato Tourism Council led the event, in partnership with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Provincial Tourism Office.

Distinguished chefs from Metro Manila lent their expertise as judges for the food competition. Among them were Chef Carlos “Pipo” Aluning, Chef Redj Baron, and Chef Brando Santos.

LGU Koronadal emerged as the overall champion, impressing the judges with their culinary prowess. They secured top honors in the Best Pork Dish and Best Pineapple-Based Dessert categories.

Taking the first-place spot, LGU Surallah wowed attendees with their delectable offerings. They also clinched the People’s Choice Awards, Best Tilapia Dish, and Best Coconut-Based Dessert.

LGU Tupi secured second place, earning accolades for their outstanding Best Chicken Dish.

“As we enter our second year, we are deeply grateful to those who have participated and supported us. Despite our event being smaller compared to other Tnalak events, you have recognized its potential from its humble beginning last year," said Tourism Council Chairperson and The Farm's CEO, Quennie Lao-Tan.

This event was part of the celebration of the 25th Tnalak Festival and the 58th Founding Anniversary of South Cotabato province.
