CCT Ministry Among Tribespeople, Inc. Recognized at the 2024 ‘Presidential Awards for MSMEs and Development Partners’

The CCT Ministry Among Tribespeople Inc. was acknowledged for "Enhancing Management and Labor Capabilities,” at the 2024 Presidential Awards for MSMEs and Development Partners.

The event was held on July 10, at the Malacañan Palace, celebrating excellence in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector and recognizing impactful programs that enhance the business climate and support MSME growth.

“This is an affirmation to CCT by God of the great work being done among tribal groups. We are encouraged to continue pursuing our calling to uplift the lives of these tribal communities and journey with them as they live a life centered on Christ,” said Executive Director Lalaine Erquiza Naquita.

“It means that in Sarangani, we have many potential enterprises among the indigenous peoples (IPs). Our goal is to help them build up their enterprises while preserving their culture,” she added.

Their efforts at the CCT Malungon Retreat and Training Center helped strengthen its IP workforce. Executive Director Naquita, Chairperson of the Board Michelle Lopez-Solon, and DTI Sarangani Provincial Director Ethel Laksmi Gumana accepted the well-deserved recognition.

The Center for Community Transformation Malungon Retreat and Training Center (CCT MRTC), operated by the CCT Ministry Among Tribespeople Inc. in Malungon, Sarangani, empowers tribal communities through a range of TechVoc programs.

These programs offer skills training and livelihood development. Additionally, the center facilitates access to information and technology, enhancing land productivity and safeguarding ancestral domains. The income generated by CCT MRTC supports various outreach initiatives benefiting tribal communities.

Among the awardees at this event were LGU Midsayap and LGU GenSan, recognized for their unwavering support to local MSMEs.

LGU Midsayap was recognized as the "Outstanding Development Partner for Mindanao for Improving Business Climate." LGU Midsayap received acclaim for its innovative "One Barangay, One Product" program. Mayor Rolly Sacdalan accepted the award on behalf of the local government.

LGU GenSan was honored as the "Outstanding Development Partner for Mindanao for Improving Access to Markets." The Yaman GenSan program played a pivotal role in connecting businesses to wider markets. Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao proudly received the award, accompanied by LnB President Hon. Bobby Pacquiao and DTI GenSan Head Eddie De Asis.

These commendations underscore the vital role of MSMEs and collaborative partnerships in driving economic growth.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. praised the remarkable achievements of MSMEs at the 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs. The Chief Executive also led the awarding of the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners for institutions with remarkable programs and services supporting MSMEs.

The 2024 Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs is a flagship initiative spearheaded by DTI’s MSME Development Group led by Usec. Ma. Cristina A. Roque, through the MSME Development Council Secretariat and Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development.

The Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs was launched by the DTI during the National MSME Summit 2023. It was renamed from Outstanding MSME Awards to its current name under Republic Act 9501 or the Magna Carta for MSMEs.
