How to Access Your Digital National ID

 

If you have not received your physical National ID yet, you can still access its digital version. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have recently introduced the Digital National ID, along with authentication platforms like National ID eVerify and National ID Check.

The National ID provides Filipinos with easier access to financial, social protection, health, education, and other government services. It also serves as a valid proof of identity for both public and private transactions. Once issued to Filipino citizens, the National ID has no expiration date and only needs renewal when updating demographic and biometric information. For resident aliens, the ID is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.

"Every registered Filipino now has improved access to a reliable and secure proof of identity that can be easily authenticated on their devices. This will facilitate the faster distribution and wider utilization of the National ID, with relying parties finding it easier to onboard to the National ID system,” stated PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD.

The Digital National ID is the official digital version of the National ID and can be accessed via computers or smartphones with an internet connection. 

It is a valid proof of identification and age for government or private transactions. You can access it through https://national-id.gov.ph or the eGovPH app, available on Google Play and the App Store.

Steps to Get Your Digital National ID:

1. Provide your full name and date of birth.

2. Complete a face verification process by taking a live selfie.

3. Your Digital National ID is ready.

How to Authenticate a Digital ID:

Government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, private employers, and other organizations can use National ID eVerify to authenticate a person's identity quickly and safely. This platform uses facial recognition to match a person's face with the photo in the National ID registry, helping prevent fraud and streamline onboarding processes.

National ID eVerify also includes a feature called National ID Check, which allows for quick verification of a National ID's legitimacy by scanning its QR code.

The National ID program is open to everyone, including children from 0 to 4 years old.
